Dear Parents and Guardians of Woodland District CUSD #5:

This letter is to inform you that beginning next week (March 12th – 15th), your child will be taking the PARCC – Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Career Test.  The PARCC Test will be administered to all students in Grades 3 through 8.

The PARCC assessment system is aligned to our new learning standards and aims to give educators, families and students:

  • A more accurate measure of how well Illinois public school children are performing;
  • How they compare to peers across the nation; and
  • Whether they’re on track to succeed in college.

As we work together to prepare our students for this rigorous assessment, please keep the following in mind for your child:

  • Get plenty of rest.
  • Eat a nutritious breakfast and lunch.
  • Do not be absent.
  • Read the questions completely before selecting an answer.
  • Check your answers completely.
  • Discuss the importance of doing your best.

Thank you for your continued involvement and support of your child’s education.  If you wish to learn more about PARCC, please visit https://parcc-assessment.org/.

Jodi Peterson, Principal
