Notice of Phone Spoofing/Scam.

April 8, 2025
Woodland Parents and Community Members,
I am writing to inform you about a concerning issue that has recently come to our attention. It has come to our notice that some individuals have been using spoofed phone numbers that mirror our school’s official phone number. These individuals have been sending messages to area
businesses, parents, and family phone numbers under the false guise of representing our school.
Please be aware that these spoofed phone numbers are being used to disseminate false information and or present scam attempts. It is important to remain vigilant and exercise caution when receiving calls or messages from numbers that appear to be from Woodland schools but
seem suspicious. We ask if you think something sounds inaccurate, or just not right to call the school and ask if set call, with set subject went out. Our staff will be able to lead you in the right direction if in fact a message like what you heard is accurate, put you with the correct administrator or staff member that the subject may be about, or be able to report to Officer Brooke of what spoof or scam subject we are currently experiencing. It is a regrettable situation
that we are working with the Livingston County Police Department to diligently address.
As the safety and security of our school community are our top priorities, we wanted to inform you of this development and urge you to be cautious when receiving any communication that may seem suspicious. If you have any doubts about the legitimacy of communication purportedly
from the school, please do not hesitate to contact us directly.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping to maintain a safe environment for our students, staff, and families. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Should you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Respectfully,
Dr. Ryan McGuckin
Superintendent
