Registration

Registration for the 2020-21 School Year will be

Wednesday, July 29th from 9:00-6:00 PM @ Woodland School

The staff associated with Registration will be spread in different locations throughout the building allowing for Social Distancing.  Please enter through the Main HS Entrance.

We ask that every individual participating in the registration process: staff, student, and guests wear a mask.

We ask that ONLY the parent or guardian attend registration if it all possible

Attendees temperatures will be checked at the door as well as a limited number of parents/guardians will be allowed in at a time to allow for a flow of traffic and not “bunched lines” waiting for services

The Choice”

You will be asked what “Choice” your family has decided on at Registration on July 29th.  Please understand this is not a “Final Decision.”  That decision is how we expect you to begin the school year on Monday, August 17th

If you wish to change this choice all you need to do is call or email Mr. Burcenski at

815-672-5974 or burcenskij@woodland5.net.

You may change from Remote to In Person as many days as you wish to gain and evaluate for the first two weeks.  But we will ask that by September 1st at 12:00 PM you make your decision that will remain final through the FIRST QUARTER which is set to end on October 15th.

We understand that the decision on sending your student(s) back to Woodland may not be an easy one for your family for several reasons.  Below you will find the various scenarios to be decided in the next few weeks by the Board of Education.  We all wish for all students to go back to school in full capacity in a normal setting.  With the current rules and regulations set forth with wearing a mask, keeping social distancing, and cleaning and safety protocols the normal school we all have known will be lost.  It will be our jobs as quickly and efficiently as possible to sustain learning at both the remote and in person level.  Please know that we are doing our best to make of a rough situation to assist our students educationally.

Other Important Information

  • Face masks will be required for all students and staff members in the building unless a note from a physician states “Student is not to be required to wear a mask.”
  • If a student does receive a note from a physician, we will be asking the student to try to wear a shield (Provided by the district) in its place
  • Woodland CUSD #5 will issue devices to all K-12 students regardless of whether they are in person or online learning
