Dear Woodland Families,
It is with great sadness that we inform the Woodland Community that we lost one of our own this past weekend. Ms. Paje Wright an Elementary Special Education Teacher passed away unexpectedly on Sunday evening. Ms. Wright affected the lives of many in her seven years at Woodland. She was an exemplary teacher, one that could be counted on to provide a breath of positive light to any situation, but also one to provide comfort and care in the most trying of times. Her students loved her unconditionally, as she loved and cared for her students as if they were her own. We will all remember most her smile, how it lit up a room and made all of us feel a little bit better about our day. She will undoubtedly be missed daily, but certainly never forgotten.
Our student body was made aware of her passing this morning along with a request for a moment of silence as we honor Ms. Wright, the daughter, the mother, the colleague, the friend, and the teacher. Woodland personnel: Mrs. Lee, Mrs. Brown, Mrs. Cunningham, as well as Livingston County Special Services Unit Personnel and Woodland staff have and will remain on site through the days and weeks to provide guidance, assistance, and support for our Woodland students. Students were encouraged to seek assistance through our staff if they were having difficulties getting through their day. We ask that you talk to your child this evening about Ms. Wright’s passing. If you feel your child needs to talk to someone about the situation, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs. Mangrich, Mr. Burcenski, Mr. Farris, your child’s teacher, or Woodland personnel and we will work with you and your family for continued supports. We are saddened by the loss of Ms. Wright and will make every effort to help you and your child as you need through this difficult time.
We will continue to communicate with the Woodland Community as service arrangements become known and updates are needed. Please keep Ms. Wright’s family in your thoughts and prayers.
