Food

Dear Woodland CUSD #5 Students, Staff, Families, and Community Members,

I write to you this afternoon on the coronavirus in connection with Food Services for our Woodland Families.  We as a staff came together this morning to discuss various options in order to effectively distribute meals to families in need during these building closures.

Our plan is as follows, which we believe will allow families to get 5 breakfasts and 5 lunches Each Monday from 9:45-11:45, starting next week for every Woodland student:

Monday, March 23rd, 2020

Monday, March 30th, 2020

(We Will Extend It Based Upon Weeks Missed)

Starting at 10:00 AM, a White Woodland Activity Bus will be stationed at the following locations to distribute meals for those that cannot make it to Woodland from 9:45-11:45 PM.

Twin Creeks: 10:00 AM

Carriage Lanes: 10:15 AM

Corner 12th & Park: 10:30 AM We Will Be At Each Location For About 10 Min

Corner 12th & Bloomington: 10:45 AM

Corner Wall St & 300 Rd Ancona: 11:00 AM

Long Point Park: 11:15 AM

Woodland School Circle Drive will be open 9:45-11:45 Each Monday for Drive Up Curb Service

If you intend to request meals we ask that you please complete this short form listed below, or let Mr. Burcenski at burcenskij@woodland5.net or Dr. McGuckin at mcguckinr@woodland5.net know the number of students in your family requesting meals and the drop off location.

Streator High School is also holding their own program, with information below that Woodland Families have access to:

Beginning Monday, March 16, and running throughout the school closures, Streator High School, partnering with Streator Elementary District #44, Arbor Food Management, and Illinois Central School Bus will be providing meals to all persons under 18 in the community.  This program is similar to our summer food program in that you DO NOT have to be a Streator High School student to get access to food.  Any person under the age of 18 may come to Streator High School's Main Entrance or Northlawn Junior High's Cafeteria Entrance between the hours of 11 AM and 12 PM Monday through Friday to get curbside meals.  Please contact Streator High School if you have any questions at (815) 672-0545.

We will do our best to keep you posted as new information becomes available.  As always if you have questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to contact me.

We will continue to work through this together.

Yours in education and in health,

Ryan McGuckin - Superintendent - Woodland CUSD #5
